The Premise
The End of the World is quick, but it's the apocalypse that is long lived. The year is 2284. It's been ten years since the events of Fallout 3, and it could be argued that Fallout 4 is occurring around these times during the roleplay. Along the Ohio River, life found it's own way to continue on. Cincinnati is one such place but with two warring factions, settlements that aren't allies, a new band of dangerous raider's, and the hazardous life of the wasteland; it's difficult to say whether these stories will thrive or be washed away like so many before.
This RP will take place in and around the Cincinnati metropolitan area. This consists of areas in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana around the city of Cincinnati itself. Like many places these locations were all hit with varying scars from the war. It left many ruins and left the water sour with radiation. ((Looking at a map will make things a bit easier to understand))
The three main bridges that go between Newerport and Cincinnati have suffered through the wear and tear over the years. The Southgate bridge is guarded the Newerport guard as well as the 471 highway.
Keep in mind that I will have the region react to a player's actions. How it changes will be decided by staff although if a member has an idea, feel free to share.
WEATHER
In and around the Cincinnati wasteland, they get a moderate amount of rainfall every year. The average, not that any wastelander records this, is roughly 40 inches per year. Even the driest months the residents can expect some rain. This offers opportunity for free water, and better growth for crops in the region. The amount of rain they get yearly, flooding can be an issue at places closest to body's of water or underground. Severe storms can cause damage to local fauna, and structures to the area around.
The most dangerous of events would be tornadoes. These carry significant danger to any settlement and peoples. Radiation levels become raised which often leads to peoples and creatures taking cover. High winds, debris, and significant radiation makes tornadoes one of the most dangerous environmental threats. This goes for any settlement no matter the size. Old sirens have withstood the estimate of time in various areas, including The Rhine. Other than that Edge Station Radio can offer a warning for the dangerous weather event.
Snowfall is a somewhat less rarer event than before the bombs fell. Still, it only snows a few times in the winter months, only given a few inches each time.
